Four were built as the official 1957 Indy 500 Pace Cars.
1265 built as exact replicas of those pace cars.
This car has its original dash plaque confirming it is a replica of the Official Pace Car for the Indy 500 race on My 30, 1957. They were shipped with pace car decals in the trunk but most dealers did not install them. They were all finished in Sun Glitter yellow with black and white interior.
The 386 cu.in V8 with 4 barrel carburetion produces 290 H.P.
Push button automatic transmission, full power equipment, even a memory setting for the power seat! Also a self-lubrication system. Factory tachometer and Town & Country radio as well. These Cruiser models came with the continental tire carrier. Did I mention it has ice cold air conditioning?
This was a corrosion free California car, and in 1995 it was brought into Canada where it underwent a total body-off professional restoration of body, paint, interior trim, top and mechanical with no expense spared.
The engine bay is correctly detailed. The car starts and runs easy and drives like the pure champion that it is.
The top with its wrap-around rear window is quite unique.
